Thanksgiving is such a great holiday. Family and friends get together and celebrate another year of gratitude for all they have in their lives, especially each other. I am happy and grateful for so many things in my life, but I thought I would mention just 5. What are you thankful for this year?
- My Mom, Theresa Connell, passed away back in January of this year, after a long bout with various health issues, and depression from the sudden death of my brother Tim, 2 years ago. Mom was the most courageous person I know, battling lifelong pain in both her legs from very poor to no circulation at all. She raised 9 of us kids and taught us the beauty and value of family, never complaining and always smiling and encouraging us. Her generosity and love for her children and grandchildren was truly selfless. I miss her dearly, and I am and will remain thankful for all the faith, hope and love my Mom instilled in me. Thank you Mom!
2. My family. My son Brian, and my Dog Kody. I lost one brother, Tim, 2 years ago, but still have 7 brothers and sisters remaining, and along with their spouses and children, make one very remarkable family. We will gather Thursday for a great turke y dinner, that my sister Jo will cook perfectly, and we will celebrate our family with food, football, a long walk, and laughter. This will be our first without Mom (Dad died back in 2000) so it will be sad but also will be special. I am thankful for the help and support my family has shown me over the years, and look forward to many more together. I am especially thankful for my son Brian, who is my best friend in the world. Brian is a great kid, and I am so proud of him.
3. My health is another great reason to be thankful. I am grateful I am still here today, a 15 year heart patient. I had a heart attack and 5 way by-pass surgery back in 2001, and I remain healthy due to my doctors and a better understanding of how my body works. We are 70 percent water, so it's important we remain hydrated. I was introduced to the miracle water, Kangen Water, earlier this year, and feel so much better now that I drink it all day, everyday. Kangen Water is high alkaline, electroylyzed reduced water, and is great for joint pain, arthritis, inflammation, and digestive issues. Everyone should be drinking it. Thank you Kangen Water.
4. I have been running my own business, KC Visuals Unlimited, Inc. since 1988, and have added Home & Business Services Unlimited to the mix over the past few years. Video marketing is my forte. Though it's been a roller coaster ride over the years, I am so thankful for the freedom to live and work by my own schedule every day. I love working with my clients, new and old, and helping them bring their brand and message to the world through video. I've been a movie and video storyteller since I was 10, and remain thankful the fire is still insid e me.
5. The last in my list is a tie between my networking group, Greater Boston Referral Networking and the great sports City of Boston. The Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins have spoiled us here in Boston, with championships, stars like big Papi and Tom Brady, and true examples of how to win. The Patriots have been unbelievable in the Brady/Belichick era, always contending and always a team. We won't truly appreciate how good they are til they are gone. So, I want to say now how thankful I am for all our Boston teams.
Greater Boston Referral Networking is a group of entrepreneurs, small business owners, and independent professional who meet regularly throughout the Boston area, to connect, establish relationships, build trust, and refer business to each other. But for me, it's also a great social outlet. I am single, and run my business all day, everyday, by myself, so having a place to go where I can meet and talk with other people, is special to me. I have made some great friendships over the past few years in GBRN, and I am truly grateful for those relationships.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone... have a fun and safe holiday... and don't eat too much!
